Estafette #2 – Rutger de Vries & Johannes Langkamp (* see information about the format below)
Exhibition: 2 May – 6 July 2025 at KEVN (Kelderman en Van Noort) Eindhoven (NL)

For the second edition of Estafette Rutger de Vries and Johannes Langkamp spent two weeks working in the exhibition space at KEVN, which was open to the public as a temporary studio. During this period, they experimented, exchanged ideas and developed new work — both individually and together.

Johannes created one kinetic experiment per day ([more info here]), driven by small wind-up mechanisms that he custom-modified for this project. Rutger focused on a series of machine-sprayed drawings and built a new spatial installation using modified fire extinguishers. Together, they developed a collaborative piece (Color Roller) that combines elements from both their practices.

The results of this productive two-week working period were presented in a joint exhibition that remained on view for nine weeks. A publication by Chemistry Publishing documenting the project has been released and is available at KEVN.
